DND SERVICE

Ofcourse, we get call from telemarketers every day to apply loan or other banking service or from various agencies to use their service. It is now possible to stop those Unsolicited Commercial Communications (UCC) to telecom users by using
Do Not Disturb(DND) service.
By registering to this service we could be able to avoid the unwanted telemarketing calls.

For customers who would like to register/de-register their request for NDNC 
registry follow the simple steps.
  • Dial/Call 1909 and follow the instructions from your mobile or landline.
  • SMS to 1909 with keywords 'START DND' for registration and 'STOP DND' 
  • for de-registration
Once registered with the service, subscriber can know the status of their registration
from the link "DND Registration Check"

What is NDNC Registry?

The NDNC Registry will be a data base having the list of all telephone numbers of
the subscribers who do not want to receive UCC.After the establishment of NDNC
 registry, Telephone subscriber (Landline or mobile) who does not wish to receive
UCC, can register their telephone number with their telecom service provider for
 inclusion in the NDNC. Telecom Service Provider shall upload the telephone number
 to the NDNC within 45 days of receipt.

The Telemarketer will have to verify their calling telephone numbers list with the NDNC
 registry before making a call.

Mobile Number Portability in India – How to change your operator by not changing your number?

Mobile number portability (MNP) enables mobile telephone users to retain their mobile telephone numbers when changing from one mobile network operator to another.

How to use Mobile Number Portability (MNP) process in India
  1. Send an SMS to 1900 with text “PORT” followed by space, followed by your mobile number (for example: PORT 9XXXXXXXX1 to 1900)
  2. You will get your unique porting code.This code will be used to reference porting.
  3. which connecting you want ? Go to your nearest service provider showroom with your unique porting code and id proof and your photo
  4. you need to buy new service provider SIM card. Approach service provider you have opted for with unique code. Carry address & ID proof/ photograph/ application form with unique code & mobile number. Complete this process within the expiry date that came with unique code.
  5. After beginning the Mobile number porting process you will have to face 3 hour no service period. It can also occur between 12AM to 5AM in which period your mobile number will not be active for any network.
